Well, December and winter are here. We got our first substantial snow fall yesterday. It wasn't much, probably only an inch if that, but enough for Keyon and I to be outside playing in it! I can't wait for a good snowfall. But then after about 2 months I know I'll be sick of it and ready for summer again. I do miss being able to go to the park or pool with Keyon. He asks to go to the park every time we are in town. Silly monkey, it's too cold!
I braved Black Friday and made it out alive. I was up and on the road before 2am and was home by 9am. The only store that was a complete madhouse was Target. I had to wait for over an hour just to check out. Otherwise the rest were not bad at all. I have Keyon and Bob all done for Christmas, and guess what?! I already have all the presents wrapped too! I know, I am a nut. But I just couldn't resist. I love wrapping presents. We went and got our tree this past Sunday and I have finished putting up decorations inside and Bob and I put up lights outside this week. I am definitely in the Christmas spirit. As well as having his advent Chocolate candy Keyon gets to open a new ornament everyday to put on the tree. Our tree is just decorated with regular bulbs and lights, but I found some really cool hunting and fishing ones to add to the tree as a part of the 25 days of Christmas. I think Bob is pretty impressed with the hunting and fishing theme as well!
I am very excited to have a full house this weekend with some family coming to visit. I love visitors so come on over!! :-) I love having a busy house full of people. Bob always says 'uh-oh' when I say this because it means I want a full house... of kids! Or dogs... He can pick. Haha!
We got gifts for two children from the Angel tree in the mall and I walked past it again today. I so wish I had the funds to pick 10 or 20 kids and shop for them. :-( Makes my heart sad. I am not sure how many of them are in need NEED but it breaks my heart when I read on the card a 2 year old or 4 month old who is in need of a coat or socks. Something so basic that we take for granted. I chose a 13 year old girl and an 10 year old boy. They ask for a few basic things like jeans and shoes and then a couple fun things like legos and books. It was so hard to chose just two!
Not much else new in my part of the world. Thanksgiving was good and I was reminded of everything I am thankful for. We are headed to Bob's nephew's basketball game this evening and then back home to pick up around the house for our guests. The semester is coming to a close so I have plenty of loose ends to tie up there too. And pretty soon a visit to SD... I'm a busy lady! Hope everyone had a great Turkey day and has a wonderful evening.
