Go-karts, bumper boats and swimming..oh my!

Happy Monday! Just laid the little one down for a nap and taking a break from cleaning. The house was in need of a good cleaning so Keyon and I have been doing that all morning.

Had a wonderful weekend up north. We rented a cabin on Bay de Noc near Escanaba in the Upper Peninsula. Our cabin wasn't anything special and the beds were horrid, but we really had a great time. They had a beautiful beach in the nearby town so we went there for the day and Keyon absolutely loved it. Lake Michigan is usually pretty cold but it was actually not to bad to swim in. They also had a little playground equipment about 50 yards out from the shore that had 2 slides on it. Reminded me of Farmer's Island in Pierre.

Most of the towns had all of their 4th of July celebrations on the 4th, but we found a small city on the Garden Peninsula that had a big shin-dig on Saturday the 3rd. So we drove to Garden, MI for a parade and kid fair. This was Keyon's first experience at a parade and he was a little confused at first, but caught on quickly about waving and getting candy. Keyon and I ate so much candy we had a belly ache! We went back and walked on the beach near our cabin and Keyon decided to jump in with all his clothes on. So we let him run around in the water nude and he was grinning from ear to ear. Oh the joys of childhood! We also went and rode go-karts and bumper boats. Bob and I are the coolest parents ever! :-) We came back home Sunday morning and went to a local parade here and just relaxed at home for the rest of the day. Keyon was pretty wiped out so we never went and saw any fireworks, but I did buy a few cheap ones that we shot off at our cabin. Keyon was very impressed :-) Haha

Well I better get back to cleaning or I won't get up until Keyon is up from his nap. Have a good week!
