It’s really hard to believe that we had 3 inches of snow yesterday. Currently I am sitting outside in a t-shirt and it’s 68 degrees! Pretty wild. Bob painted the bathroom yesterday and we both didn’t think the color matched well enough with the floor so I ended up repainting it today. I’m still not positive this color matches completely either, but I think it’s better than before and for goodness sake we are not painting it a 3rd time. Bob went walleye fishing with his brother this afternoon so Keyon and I are bonding. He has been showing a little bit of his terrible 2’s lately. He is usually a really happy kid and pretty well mannered, but not lately. Whew! He’s testing out screaming currently. He thinks it’s funny even when we he gets in trouble for screaming. Just have to ignore it I guess until it passes. I can’t imagine having another kid right now only for the sake that Keyon would freak out. He gets 24/7 undivided attention now and still wants more. I can’t imagine how the transition would be if we had a baby in the mix too! No big plans for this weekend, but hopefully it stays nice as we have been wanting to take Keyon to the zoo but haven’t found a good day for it. I’m also looking forward to when it really gets warm out because we have an above ground pool in the back yard. Who knew in Wisconsin that pools were such a big hit?? Just think, I’ll be a bronzing beauty by the time summer is over! I’ll have to keep an extra watch on the little man to make sure he doesn’t slip out of my sight and jump in, but when we are out there together I know he is going to love it. He sure loves to splash and swim in the bathtub, he’ll really be cranky when I make him get out of the pool.
A week or so ago, we were able to talk Keyon’s mom into giving us primary custody of him. We had the papers all ready and a court date set but gave her the option to settle with us out of court first. After 2 hours of spoon feeding her what she wanted to hear, she finally came to an agreement. She went from having him every other week (7 with us, 7 with her) to every other week Wed-Fri. She basically went from 14 days a month to 6. The sad part was right after she signed the papers her first question was, “well what about the child support?? I’m still going to be getting money right??” Obviously that was all she was worried about. Needless to say since we have primary custody now, she is technically supposed to pay us child support, but as Bob says you can’t get blood out of a rock. Rather than going to court, Bob signed off on no child support instead. This week Heather was supposed to get Keyon Wednesday til Friday and has made no effort to see him. Wednesday she called around 8pm and said she had some stuff going on and had to go shopping so would call the next day. Well no call Thursday or today. We reminded her it’s her week and we won’t be switching weeks. She said she understood and that it would be no problem. We are going on 4 weeks of having Keyon with us solely and she has seen him a total of 4 hours on Easter Sunday. How could you not want to be around this happy, loveable kid?? I just don’t understand some people. Such a waste, but we are very happy he is with us full time no matter the circumstances.
Well I need to go get supper started. Have a great weekend!!
