Bathroom Floors and Bribery

We decided to put the bathroom floor down today even though we haven’t painted yet. It just made more sense as we were able to seal and hook up the toilet again and also hook up the sink. We’ll have to be careful when we paint, but I would rather be careful and have most of my bathroom back than have to wait another week or so.

It is gorgeous out today. I am actually sitting outside as I type this right now. Keyon and I have been outside playing most of the afternoon, but he keeps on insisting in playing in either Bob or my vehicles. He loves to turn the key to accessory, mess with the radio, air control settings, and what not. He can literally sit in there for almost an hour completely entertained. Yesterday when it was time to go inside for supper he threw a fit that I made him get out of my car. He doesn’t have enough strength to start the vehicles, I suppose we’ll have a problem when he can. Anyway, I haven’t let him play in the vehicles all afternoon but finally gave in. I’m such a sucker. I have been trying to entertain him with other toys and magic (my amazing sidewalk chalk art) but ultimately he didn’t squeal with so much delight until I went and got the car keys. I guess I should be happy he is easily entertained. We usually go for a walk every night and unless Bob comes he’s not always up for going to far away from the house. He doesn’t throw a fit but just keeps asking where daddy is and pointing back towards the house. I guess he thinks I’m kidnapping him in the stroller, in the middle of no where. Tonight though I was pleasantly surprised when he wanted to go for a walk in the stroller. The key component this time is the fact that I gave him a freeze pop. We went for a nice long walk, well long enough until his freeze pop was gone and he was ready to go back towards the house. I guess bribery is what solves everything! Sometimes he is just so darn cute it’s hard to be around him. Today we were trying to get him to lay down for his nap so we could lay the bathroom floor and he just kept giving kisses. Kissing our shoulder, our arms, our cheek. What a lover! One of us will usually lay there for a little while, but it was hard to tell him to go to sleep when he was being so cute. We eventually just left the room and after a few tears he was out like a light. It was pretty cute how he was sprawled out and Oscar was cuddled up next to him.

Last night, his first night sleeping in his big boy bed went really well. He took a little bit to get to sleep but never once got out of bed and tried to come see where we were. I don’t think he has realized that he can get out of bed himself yet, as this morning he did his usual “hello, I’m awake….why aren’t you??” instead of just getting out of bed and finding us. I guess that’s not a bad thing as I’d rather it stay this way then him crawling into bed with us at all hours of the night.

Well I guess Keyon lost the keys so the luster of playing in the vehicle is gone. I must go…
