What I've learned thus far...

I thought I would compile a few things I've learned since I've moved to Wisconsin. Here goes...

1. No one drives the speed limit. Although it is 55 on most roads and 25 in town where I'm used to seeing 35 in SD, everyone drives faster than the posted speed limit. I often get pass many times a day because I DO drive the speed limit. I guess having SD plates is just an invitation to get pulled over if I'm speeding, so rather not push my luck. Hey, I'm getting good gas mileage too!

2. It snows here just as much as it does in SD but people seem to believe we are worlds a part when I tell them where I have moved from. I'm surprised no one has asked me if we have running water in SD. They seem to think I am an alien.

3. No one from SD lives here. Maybe it was the fact that SF was at the tip of the state thus near 2 other states that I you could often see plenty of license plates from other states, but here it is Wisconsin and a few Michigan even though it's just across the bridge to MI. I guess the Michigans stay on their side of town. I am definitely an outcast without out of state plates, not necessarily SD ones but any plate that isn't WI or MI.

4. I am the only one who is excited to live near one of the Great Lakes. I guess learning all the lakes in Grade School really payed off, but they seem to really take it for granted. Maybe people feel that way about SF-ians and Falls Park?? I don't know, I don't think anything near SF can really compare to one of the Great Lakes. I mean come on they are named "great" lakes for a reason.

5. The coolest piece of fashion where I attend classes is snow mobile jackets. I am not kidding you. Everyone and their dog wears a bright green or orange Polaris, Skidoo jacket too school. You're not cool unless you are wearing one. I guess I am SOOO UNcool.

This is all I can think of at the moment. Ta-ta for now. Have to go study for an Abnormal Psych test. Yippee!!
