Pee Pee in the Potty

Today we found out the joys of potty training. K will be two in March so even though the living arrangements make it pretty difficult, we figured now would be a good time to get going on wearing big boy pants. Today I bought a little potty for K and after unpacking it and doing some assembly it was all ready to go. B thought since K needed his diaper changed anyway he would see if he would sit on it for a bit. K didn't know what to think about the potty chair. He loved sitting on it with his pants on but when he was naked he wasn't quite sure if this was a good idea. So B and I are in the kitchen with him and he decides to run to the living room with no diaper on. We are watching him and laughing. Then B's face has a sense of urgency on it and he runs to the living room. He has scared K a little as he scoops him up and brings him back to the kitchen. Apparently from B's angle he could see a little poop coming out of K's butt as he was climbing up the couch. I guess the small amount of time sat on the potty made K want to go! So B puts K on the toilet and of course a little turd drops in the bowl. We all do a little dance and cheer for K because he went poop in the toilet. Well if you can imagine I am laughing hysterically and have now went into the living room to find out if any poop came out before the snag. B is certain that he saw a little drop out first so here I am giggling and hunting for poo. I can't find any and meanwhile Oscar joins the hunt. He has never been a poop eater but B swears he ate it! This of course makes me laugh even more and as B and I are searching for the lost turd K is still in the kitchen next to his potty. K is kind of squatting down and B says something to him that kind of startles him. The poop find is called off and we go back into the kitchen to find out K has peed all over the floor now. By this time I am literally crying from laying so hard. It was hilarious! Of course B didn't find it quite as funny as I did. He doesn't always see the humor in moments like this like I do :-) Anyway I put a new diaper on K and B cleaned up the puddle, but as far as the potty chair I think it might be a little while before we actually see some progress.

Other than that things are going really good here. I am still sick which really blows but finally feeling better today. I have a good majority of my stuff unpacked which is nice, living out of a suitcase and totes has lost its luster! The weather has been really nice and the boys even went and played outside for a while today. Oscar is adjusting really well and him and Remi are getting along good now that the few welcome growls are done. I'm sure with K my blog will be far more exciting! Will post pictures soon!
